The main object for which the Association is formed is to lobby for and promote the participation of indigenous Ugandan individuals and bodies corporate in the provision of services to the Oil and Gas sector.  In the furtherance of these purposes, the Association may, among other things: –

1. Render advice to Government of Uganda with regard to matters pertaining to the Oil and Gas industry in Uganda;
2. Conduct and commission research studies in the Oil and Gas sector with a view to improving service delivery in the sector;
3. Promote Oil and Gas production activities through the formation, promotion and empowerment of indigenous – owned Corporations and Joint Ventures to provide services in the sector;
4. Promote the accessibility, use and ownership of the Oil and Gas resources by indigenous Ugandans;
5. Encourage Partnerships, Joint Ventures and any other forms of association between indigenous Ugandan individuals and/or corporate bodies for purposes of providing services in the Oil and Gas sector;
6. Train and support the training of indigenous Ugandans in the various aspects of requisite services in the Oil and Gas industry;
7. Liaise and work hand – in – hand with other Research and Consultancy bodies and any other role – players in the Oil and Gas sector in attaining the objects for which the Association has been formed;
8. Encourage indigenous Ugandans to bid for the provision of services in the Oil and Gas sector and to enable them to access capital, inputs, or financial assistance from development partners such as the Government, Non- Governmental Organizations and any other partners as may from time to time be established;
9. Empower and assist young Ugandan science graduatesto attain technical proficiency in Oil and Gas production and other related services so as to enable them to be formally employed in the Oil and Gas industry;
10. Establish formal or informal partnerships with the Government of Uganda and its ministries including but not limited to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and other agencies, municipal, local orotherwise,multinationaldonororganizations,Ugandanandinternationalnon-governmental organizations which have supported or support the Oil and Gas industry in Uganda for purposes of meeting the same goals for which this Association is being establishedand other goals which may seem conducive to the Association’s objects; and
11. To raise, collect and receive funds in cash or in kind from persons in Uganda or elsewhere by donation or gift to the Association or in other ways including the levying of subscriptions and other charges.
12. To empower, sensitize and ensure the active involvement of the local communities in the oil producing
13. areas through the promotion of skills’ transfer among the local communities.

Do all such other things as are incidental to or conducive to the attainment of the above objects and generally to do such other lawful  things  as may be necessary for the attainment of the aims, objectives and aspirations of the Association
